[WELL Lab] How to Choose a Disposable Coverall Supplier in China: 8-Point Checklist

China is the world's largest manufacturing base for disposable coveralls, but supplier quality varies enormously. Importers who skip due diligence end up with "sampling-OK, bulk-bad" shipments. Use this 8-point checklist before placing your first order.

1. Certifications match your market

• EU: EN ISO 13982-1 (Type 5), EN 13034 (Type 6), EN 14605 (Type 3/4) under PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 — look for a valid CE certificate and DoC.
• US: NFPA 1999 / ANSI standards where applicable.
• Always ask which standard the product actually meets, not just "CE marked".

2. Third-party test reports

Request CNAS/CMA (China) or ISO 17025 laboratory reports. Verify that the report batch matches your order — report-vs-goods mismatch is the most common fraud.

3. Factory audit

Ideally visit or video-audit the factory: production lines, quality control, raw material storage. Check ISO 9001/14001/45001 certifications and whether the factory is the actual manufacturer (not a trader).

4. Gram weight verification

Gram weight (g/m²) defines the protection level. A "50g" suit that is actually 40g fails both protection and durability. Ask for bulk inspection data.

5. Sampling before bulk

Order samples from the actual production line (not special hand-made samples), test them in your own application, and keep sealed samples for comparison.

6. MOQ and pricing transparency

Confirm MOQ, price terms (FOB/CIF), whether the price includes packaging, and payment terms. "Too good to be true" pricing usually means non-compliant materials.

7. Lead time and capacity

Confirm production capacity and lead time in writing. A factory with multiple production bases (like WELL Protection's 80,000m²+) can guarantee stable supply during peak seasons.

8. After-sales and traceability

Check batch traceability, complaint handling and whether the supplier supports OEM/ODM for your own brand.
